Family Peer Support

A peer support worker is trained to offer you humane support based on his or her own experience and experiential knowledge. Like you, they have lived through difficult situations as caregivers. Their resilience in the face of their personal situation and experiences has led them on their own journey.

They will help you prioritize your own recovery as a caregiver of someone living with a mental health issue, and help you maintain hope.

The role of the peer support worker:

  • Listen to you without judgment
  • Accompany you through the challenges you face
  • Be your partner throughout your journey as a caregiver for someone living with a mental health issue.
